The event was held in Westin Century Plaza Hotel, in Los
Angeles, California and drew more than 30 Gartner analysts and
consultants, approximately 50 of the world’s leading services
and solutions providers, and a great number of leading software
engineering companies from Eastern Europe, India, Mexico, and
China, as well as end-users and buyers from the US and other
countries.
The 8th annual event featured British comedian John Cleese and
attracted a record 1,150 attendees. Some of the world-leaders
present at the conference were: Accenture, IBM, Infosys, Oracle,
HP, CIBER, Siemens, Costco, DuPont, Boeing, Verizon, AT&T and
other.
This year’s theme was "Practical Outsourcing: Managing the
Choices, Risks and Rewards." More than 15 of the 60-plus content
sessions featured case studies and panel discussions presented by
end-users and industry professionals. The rest of the conference
was predominantly showcase and technology-provider case-study
panels.
The summit was a great networking opportunity and an
unparalleled learning experience for both novices of outsourcing
and those with more mature, complex initiatives. It allowed a wide
range of business leaders to come together and get a comprehensive
view of outsourcing industry. Speaking of SoftServe in particular,
at the summit it gained a holistic understanding of the entire
outsourcing arena and of all the options, risks and opportunities
that exist in IT outsourcing.
