On
September 14-th, 2006 SoftServe officially launched SoftServe
University. It was an extraordinary event for Ukrainian IT society.
The mission of this institute is to help students and young
specialists in gaining knowledge and merits as well as in getting
Certificate of International IT-professional. SoftServe University
provides high qualitative education, which will help attendees to
improve their knowledge and to receive technical experience, which
is required for work in IT industry.
SoftServe University is the first Ukrainian Institution of
this type for improving developer’s knowledge and for
retraining. SoftServe University includes:
- SoftServe IT Academy is an academic program
for those who want to receive ultramodern and qualitative IT
education. This program lasts 3 months and is developed for senior
students and for retraining personnel. The main course of this
training is to extend knowledge of object-oriented programming,
such as C++, C#, Java and .Net. This program started last year and
represented itself as successful project. More than 75% of
graduates, who succeeded in OOP software development, are working
at SoftServe now.
- Microsoft IT Academy is a joint program of
SoftServe and Microsoft. The main goal of Microsoft IT
Academy is to give possibility in receiving practical and
theoretical knowledge of Microsoft products. In general,
Microsoft IT Academy has two levels: Office Specialist and IT Pro
Platinum. SoftServe trains IT Pro Platinum level, because this
level proposes elementary-professional training of specialists in
technical support of PC, computer system administration,
multicomputer system administration, databases administration and
etc.
- Language school is a program of learning and
improving foreign languages, which is based on advanced technical
English studies and includes: modern methodologies of negotiations
over mail and chats, phone negotiations and CV preparations,
successful interview passing; and professional negotiations with
the customer and on-site visits etc.
In the near future SoftServe will open
SoftServe Certification Center as
a department of SoftServe University, that means that all attendees
of SoftServe University will receive certificates in a key IT
courses and international recognized tests in English language,
such as: Microsoft MCP, Oracle OCP, OSA Sun Java SCJP, SCWCD,
TOEFL etc.
Representatives of leading universities of Lviv, SoftServe top
management and Director General of
Microsoft Ukraine Valeriy Lanovenko were present
at the opening of SoftServe University. Valeriy Lanovenko
underlined: "The mission of Microsoft Corporation is to assist the
society in full realization of its potential. I think, that we have
a partner in Ukraine, who totally shares our mission and our values
not only declaring it, but also making real efforts to help us in
training students and specialists and giving them a possibility to
prosper and to create Ukrainian economic basis".
Taras Kytsmey, President of SoftServe pointed out:
"The sphere of software development that we are working in is
developing very dynamically in Ukraine. We are experiencing 50%
growth every year, so in few years production volume of IT industry
will reach several billions of dollars. As a result software
development will be a leading industry in Ukraine. If we want to
reach such results, we should invest in education. SoftServe
University is our investment".
